Done correctly it is safe on knitwear, wool, cashmere, couch fabric, and most everyday materials. The only fabrics to avoid are silk and very loosely woven open-knit fabrics.

Sweaters, hoodies, coats, leggings, blankets, sofas, car seats, bedding, socks, scarves, and curtains. If it's a fabric and it pills, this works on it. The couch angle surprises most people — it is not just a clothing tool.
